(CBS DETROIT) - Michigan GOP Rep. Josh Schriver took to social media on Monday to utter on same-sex marriage, saying, "Make male lover marriage illegal again."
In a post on X, the lawmaker from Oxford added, "This is not remotely controversial, nor extreme." Schriver also shared a concise video of then-Sen. Barack Obama in , saying that marriage "is between a man and woman." In , while he was president, Obama said his position on same-sex marriage had evolved and that same-sex couples should have the ability to get married.
"America only 'accepted' male lover marriage after it was thrusted into her by a perverted Supreme Court ruling. America doesn't have to be as dysfunctional as America ," Schriver said in the post.
Schriver was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in and represents parts of Macomb and Oakland counties.
