It has been mentioned 2 me several times now, much to my disgust, so i touch i might ask the forum and see wot they reflect. is it true that there were homosexual undertones throughtout the book between frodo and sam? i mean, i kinda mind that they were a bit too close myself at times but i only ever brought it up 2 people kidding and i would hate to think either frodo or sam were secretly gay- especially with one another!! So, please, people of the forum and other LOTR fans, put my consciousness at rest. is it factual, and if so could some1 explain why

Were there sexual undertones in the book? Yes, a lot.
Were Frodo and Sam queer lovers? No, they weren't.
You can calm down, the rumors are not true. As passionate as that could be, these two never shared

Was Frodo and Sam's relationship homo erotic?
sheez. this has to be the most debated piece of fiction in the last twenty years or so. Are the orcs black? Is Sauron big brother? Is Sarauman hitler?
Is the ring a nuke? Blah blah blah. If Tolkien knew what people saw in his fiction to further their own agendas he would probably never wrote the damn books.
Sauron is Huge Brother… now that’s a new one! It’s absorbing discussing different ways in which the book can relate to real experience scenarios, although some of them are more than a tad far fetched.

I seem to remember reading (possibly in the LOTR prologue) that Tolkien didn’t personally parallel any of the themes in the story with World War II which was happening while he wrote the book. I’m sure he must have been inspired by it in some ways though.

I actually consider that the Frodo/Sam association would actually be closer to Tolkien’s relationships with his fellow soldiers in WW1. I wonder if he considered those friendships as “homoerotic”.

Sam And Frodo Are Not Homosexuals In The Lord Of The Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien Made That Quite Clear

The invade on J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings series continues as cultural vandals attempt to repeat their lounge ad nauseum that Samwise Gamgee and Frodo Baggins are gay.

And it is indeed a stretch, one that is easily disproved by actually reading The Lord of the Rings.

Nevertheless, these cultural vandals spewed their vile poison in the hopes that if they recite their lie often enough people will eventually succumb and begin to feel it.

The latest strive to spread these lies comes after Twitter user WargarW theorized that if Hollywood was making The Lord of the Rings today “Aragorn would possess been a girl (but Arwen still a she-Elf), Frodo & Sam would have been lgbtq+, Gandalf black & the only pale male actors in the entire cast would have been Denethor, Gríma & Saruman. #Wokeness.”

In response, the cultural vandals came out of the woodwork. One wrote, “>SamandFrodo would have been gay” >”would have.” They then shared a Spongebob meme asking, “How do we t

My theory is that they&#;re very european and that their relationship is too mature for me to receive (americans men are a bit more homophobic than our "peeps" on the other side of the ocean .. guys maintain hands in europe and such).. Is this feasible or is the gayness actually there? Any europeans here? How did you view their relationship?

I must add that I mind it was actually kinda sweet, if they were gay or not.. Honeslty, if they made frodo a girl I&#;d consider that the movie was one hell of a love story..
