#fbm #SpainFrankfurt #OverflowingCreativity | Spain is the Guest Land of Honor at the Frankfurt Manual Fair, a distinct opportunity to display its culture and literature to the world. This participation is organized by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and the Directorate General for Books (Ministry of Culture and Sports), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, the Cervantes Institute and the Federation of the Guild of Publishers of Spain.
Spain was already Guest of Honor 30 years ago, in , and for it aims to improve the truth and interest in Spanish literature abroad. In the Guest of Honor Programme, Spain shows a selection of imaginative projects in collaboration with Spanish cultural institutions that are based on five fundamental pillars: bibliodiversity, innovation, linguistic plurality, gender equality and sustainability.

Defining gender non-conforming cinema is essentially a simple matter, even if, like most people, you only see this as a genre that explain stories about forms of desire and constellations of characters from the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. A straightforward response that would do justice to both aspects of the composite (queer and cinema) would be that film, as a moving-image medium, lends itself to the portrayal of unpindownable objects, categories and bodies. Given today’s endless succession of superhero franchises, Transformer films and masked characters that blockbuster films possess long employed to produce massive self-satisfying buzz and hype, does anyone really feel the inclination to talk about fixed identities based on origin, race, class, gender or sexual orientation? In cinema, montage provides the context, not binary social classifications enjoy woman/man, inside/outside, private/public, homo/hetero and cis/trans. Film relies on a range of techniques that can resolve apparent contradictions, yet still render what is depicted
